Intermediate Digital Photography is a student-driven, project-based course that builds on the foundational skills developed in Beginning Digital Photography. Students work with their instructor to plan original projects that demonstrate increased proficiency in designated course competencies. The course emphasizes more advanced composition and lighting techniques, along with a deeper understanding of digital photography technology and its relationship to artistic expression. Photography as a fine art is a central focus, with students critically examining both contemporary and historical photographs and applying those insights to their own work. Image editing skills are further developed as students take on more demanding subjects and refined creative challenges. The use of a digital SLR camera is highly recommended. This course supports continued growth and prepares students for Advanced Digital Photography.
