The illustration is my honors project for a course on Shakespeare's tragedies. I chose to further study the way in which Shakespeare portrayed women in his plays as opposed to the norm in Elizabethan England. My findings were that Shakespeare's women were restricted in what they could do, but they were still capable of pulling the rug from under the feet which trampled them.
